The overall objective of the meeting is to improve cooperation between the selected European regions to support the development of strategies for adaptation to climate change and the introduction of policy guides.

          The specific objective of the thematic seminar and workshop is to develop the capacity of regional authorities to trigger measures to adapt to climate change by improving the understanding of available resources for this purpose at regional level.

          Representatives of RAPIV - Dr. Radev, Executive Director, Mrs. Maria Zlateva - Petkova - Financial Manager and Eng. Lilia Kaloyanova - Business Consultant, actively participated in the discussions. The Bulgarian delegation finds that the organization and hosting of the event in Crete are excellent and that the desire of all partners to solve together the issues discussed will help to advance the implementation of the project.
 

The program of the event included:

1. One plenary session with speakers Mr. Peter Repinski, Sustainable Consumption and Production, Climate Change and Energy Expert, Professor Dimitris Lalas Environmental Engineer, Prof. Kostas Sololakis, Technical University of Crete;

2. World Café: Discussion on the Use of Regional Resources in Climate Adaptation Strategies with Moderator Mr. Jens Christian Norgard;

3. Work sessions:

    3.1 Explore accessibility and use of resources in regional climate change adaptation initiatives;

    3.2 Use of resources to adapt to climate change in the field of tourism.
