EIT Food Challenge Lab 2023 Bulgaria

EIT Food Challenge Lab aims to support entrepreneurs in developing ideas for new, innovative products, services and technological solutions to address real challenges facing the agri-food sector.

The event is held in the form of a three-day hackathon, bringing together different groups of people (students, students and PhD students, entrepreneurs, startups and experts in the field of food technology, nutrition, biotechnology, marketing, management, information technology, psychology, etc.) and supports building partnerships between industry, academia and start-ups to solve real business cases.

The hackathon will end with presentations of the solutions before a jury, and the best teams will receive prizes.

The deadline for individual or team applications is September 30, 2023. The results of the selection will be announced on October 1, 2023 and applicants will be notified by email and phone.

Especially for the approved participants, in the period 1 – 10 October 2023, online meetings will be held on topics such as business planning, Design Thinking, business canvas model and pitching to ensure a successful presentation during the EIT Food Challenge Lab 2023 Bulgaria.

How does Challenge Lab work?

Challenge Identification – We work with agri-food companies to identify a meaningful and real challenge or problem they are facing.

Interdisciplinary teams – We select the best participants, ensuring the optimal combination of experience and skills in team building. If you apply as a team, you can work together. Each team is between 5-8 participants.

Challenge Solving – The problem can be approached from different perspectives by people with backgrounds and interests in engineering, economics, food, marketing and logistics.

Expert support – We partner with leading experts in the field to support you in identifying and developing ideas and with our business experts to help your ideas solve a real problem.

Industry Connection – Our challenges respond to specific needs and problems of companies in the agri-food sector, this gives participants the opportunity to interact with experts and confirm the viability of their solution.

Schools and Universities – Our efforts are focused on identifying active schools and universities and young and talented innovators. Some of the leading universities in disciplines related to the agri-food sector are participating with their young talents. The challenge is a great way to bring young talent and big companies together.
